Module 11: Placing Containers In The Right Location
It’s crucial to place containers in a location that gets the right sunlight and wind so the vegetables can grow healthy and be ready for harvest.
I would suggest placing the containers in the right location before you add potting soil because it will get heavy to move around.
Choose The Right Location
You find the right location that gets sufficient sunlight based on the vegetable plant’s requirements. Most will need full sunlight which is at least 6-8 hours.
Keep a distance of 1-2 feet between the containers so they don’t crowd each other. This prevents humidity and fungal issues.
Keep the taller vegetables behind and smaller ones in the front. This helps all of the container plants get the required sunlight without blocking each other.
The good thing about growing in containers is you can move them around if you find the location is not suitable. So you can observe the plants for a few days and check if they are in the right location. If not, you can move them to another spot and check again.
Action Steps
- Choose the location that gets sufficient sunlight.
- Keep a distance of 1-2 feet between the containers.
- Place the containers and observe for a few days.
- Move the containers if the location does not receive sufficient light.
